Our Mission
The Oakland Brass Band is an organization committed to
the British brass band traditions of providing the highest quality brass band entertainment
for their audiences.
Our objectives are to:
 | Promote the performance of brass band literature in all segments of the
community. |
 | Maintain the very best standards in musicianship among its
members. |
 | Provide solo performance opportunities for young musicians through Young
Musicians Competitions. |
 | Provide educational experiences for young musicians through music
performance. |

Organization's Profile
The Oakland Brass Band was founded in 2006 by several local
musicians with the desire to provide Detroit area professional and
semi-professional musicians with an outlet for expressing their talent through
the brass band style and heritage. In October, A Board of Directors was created,
non-profit status was sought for the organization and a list of interested
musicians was developed.

Board Members at Large
The success of the Oakland Brass Band, organizationally,
depends heavily on the effort of interested and dedicate people behind the
scenes. Board Members at Large are those people that help the
Board by performing the many business functions necessary to develop and
maintain a healthy organization. Members at Large do not have to be musicians -
music lovers are welcome. Among the jobs to be filled are: Sales, Logistics and
Advertising.
